Queen Victoria visits Liverpool Monday 26th July, crowds due and traffic controls will be in place

Dear residents,

As you may be aware, Queen Victoria will berth alongside City of Liverpool Cruise Terminal on Monday 26th July 2010 from 0900 – 2300.

We anticipate very large crowds to be in and around the St Nicholas Place and Princes Parade vicinity throughout the day and into the evening, as previously experienced during the Queen Mary 2 visit.

The Liverpool City Council Events Team will be managing the area to ensure the safety of all persons whilst minimising inconvenience.

A one-way traffic system will be in place along Princes Parade & St Nicholas Place from 07.00am with access from the north via the Bath Street roundabout and egress via the south, adjacent to the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The LCC Events Team will endeavour to maintain essential vehicle access in/out of Princes Parade throughout the day however this cannot be guaranteed should the volume of spectators prevent it being safe for vehicle movements to continue.

If deemed necessary for a full road closure to be implemented, essential deliveries and collections will be re-directed to the Events Cabin which will be located on Plot 11 however in the interests of forward planning, it would be prudent to avoid or re-arrange any non-urgent deliveries, meetings or visits on this particular date where possible.

We thank-you for your co-operation and will provide more definitive details nearer the time.

Should you have any immediate questions then please do not hesitate to contact Princes Dock Development Company to pass onto Cruise Manager / LCC Events Team for response.

Yours sincerely

Liverpool City Council
