The scandal of failed developments in Liverpool was highlighted on Monday 11th July in the national media when BBCR4 flagship programme You and Yours produced a 13minute piece about the people who had lost all their savings by investing in the development formerly known as The Rise at Low Hill by Primesite Developments run by Kerry Tomlinson.
This of course isn’t the only Primesite development in the city to go into administration and this story of investors losing all their savings is repeated across a number of failed schemes in the city which has led to a reluctance of foreign and national investors to come to the city. Most of these schemes were started under the Mayoralty of Joe Anderson and during the tenures of his Head of Regeneration Nick Kavanagh and Head of Highways Andy Barr – all of whom have been arrested under investigation by Merseyside Police.
The Rise (pictured above) is now known as Element the Quarter and was bought from the Administrators by Nexus Residential and Legacie Developments. But none of the original investors have received anything back as their monies have all been spent or disappeared.
BBC R4 You and Yours 11.07.22 The Liverpool storyline starts at 24min and finishes at 37mins. The reporter and researcher is Matt O’Donoghue.
