Despite having sent a significant Press Release (WHS Engage Seminars Press Release) to the Echo and other outlets it is surprising that nothing so far has managed to get onto their pages even though there was national and regional interest from the BBC in the presence in the city of the head of the UNESCO unit for Europe and North America. Could it be because the Echo has made a decision not to support the attempts to hold onto WHS status? Are they committed to the default position from significant power brokers in the city that this UNESCO status stands in the way of legitimate development and progress? Sad really that they chose not to share with their readers the insights and attitudes from UNESCO. Maybe they prefer to leave the impression among the population that there is no appetite in the city to fight for WHS status? How wrong could they be!
