When: Wed 20th May - 18.00

Where: Your Home

We have been working hard to bring our residents food from a different culinary tradition every week which reflects the amazing variety of restaurants that we are blessed with in Liverpool and we don’t want to lose one of them! Wednesday 20th May will see us sourcing our evening meals from Damas – a Lebanese cafe and eatery located on Renshaw Street (almost directly opposite the Four Seasons Chinese restaurant from 13th May!)

This is your opportunity to taste the incredible flavours of a Middle Eastern Grill and the spiced dishes for which Lebanon is famous.

Damas offers their own free delivery service within a 1.5 mile radius, if you phone in your order and spend a minimum of £18.

Or you can order via Just Eat (£10 minimum order, £1.50 delivery) or Deliveroo (£5 minimum order, £1.50 delivery) which many of us are becoming quite adept at using!

How does it work?

On Wednesday 20th May:

  1. At around 4:30–5pm, place your order via the Damas website, Just Eat, or Deliveroo. Allow about 1 hour for delivery.
  2. At 6pmjoin our Zoom Room here, on your laptop, phone, or tablet.
  3. Connect with your fellow residents, share some stories, and share a meal… and maybe make some new friends!

We hope you are enjoying these special collective Wednesday gatherings on Zoom whilst at the same time doing something to support the food outlets of the city centre and waterfront. Please do your best to let your neighbours know about our events and share this information with them by email, or on social media.

What is Zoom?

Zoom is a free video conferencing app, used by millions of people around the world. It works on any phone, tablet, or computer with a front-facing camera.

You can make your evening smoother by downloading the Zoom app in advance, via this link.

Then, at dinner time on Wednesday, you can use the same link to join our Zoom Room again, or you can open up the Zoom app on your device and enter the meeting ID: 608 926 5987.

Why are you doing this?

Liverpool’s retailers, and especially its cafés, restaurants, and bars, are facing an unprecedented challenge as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, residents all across the city centre face the prospect of becoming more and more isolated as this situation goes on.

We, at Engage, want to do our bit to help address both of these issues. Using our network of city centre and waterfront residents, and our contacts with local food providers, we want to help combat the social isolation that many of us are starting to feel. And if we can also share some really good food at the same time, then all the better!

If you have any suggestions for future restaurants, or ideas for how we can support you during this pandemic, please contact us at chair@engageliverpool.com.
