When: Wed 1st Jul - 18.00

Where: Your Home

Delighted to add local independent Turkish restaurant Elif to our list of big neighbourhood dinner table meals! Their Bold Street restaurant does a delivery service so we should be able to enjoy their food on Wednesday!

Elif on Bold Street  is part of a family tradition of bringing Turkish cuisine to people across the city. You will also find them on Lark Lane and Queens Drive, Childwall as well as the Loft Bar in Woolton Village. A full menu is available with the delivery service and you can place your order with Deliveroo.

Then we’d like to see you join with a number of neighbours from the waterfront and city centre who live in apartments on our weekly lockdown Zoom shared meal time each Wednesday at 6.00pm – so as not to take up too much of your evening time! It’s been such a good experience so far (this is our 14th unique restaurant) that residents have vowed to meet up for a face-to-face encounter once restrictions have been lifted and restaurants are open again for business. Until then we will continue to offer our weekly Zoom event to keep neighbours in touch and to support local independent restaurants.

How does it work?

On Wednesday 24th June:

  1. At around 5pm, place your order on Elif Bold Street’s Deliveroo page and allow about 1 hour for delivery.
  2. At 6pmjoin our Zoom Room here, on your laptop, phone, or tablet.
  3. Connect with your fellow residents, share some stories, and share a meal… and maybe make some new friends!

What is Zoom?

Zoom is a free video conferencing app, used by millions of people around the world. It works on any phone, tablet, or computer with a front-facing camera.

You can make your evening smoother by downloading the Zoom app in advance, via this link.

Then, at dinner time on Wednesday, you can use the same link to join our Zoom Room again, or you can open up the Zoom app on your device and enter the meeting ID: 608 926 5987.

Why are you doing this?

Liverpool’s retailers, and especially its cafés, restaurants, and bars, are facing an unprecedented challenge as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, residents all across the city centre face the prospect of becoming more and more isolated as this situation goes on.

We, at Engage, want to do our bit to help address both of these issues. Using our network of city centre and waterfront residents, and our contacts with local food providers, we want to help combat the social isolation that many of us are starting to feel. And if we can also share some really good food at the same time, then all the better!

If you have any suggestions for future restaurants, or ideas for how we can support you during this pandemic, please contact us at chair@engageliverpool.com.
