When: Wed 25th Mar - 18.00

Where: Your Home

Join us this Wednesday for a Liverpool—maybe even WORLD—first… a video call paella party! With gorgeous, fresh, hand-made paella from city favourite Lunya, plus a screen full of new friends, as you share your dinner with your city centre and waterfront neighbours.

Support each other and support local independent restaurants during this very difficult time for everyone. Engage with us as we engage with our beloved food suppliers by getting on board our new project to bring residents and restaurants together.

How does it work?

  1. Order an Engage Paella from Lunya using this link and the password “engage” before 2pm Wednesday 25th March.
  2. Once your meal arrives on Wednesday afternoon, pop it in the fridge… if you can resist!!
  3. Reheat at 6pm, and join our Zoom Room here, on your laptop, phone, or tablet.
  4. Connect with your fellow residents, share some stories, and share a meal… and maybe make some new friends!

We’re incredibly excited to have Peter Kinsella and the whole Lunya team on board for this, the first dinner in what we hope will become a weekly series. He has agreed to cook us a Paella (seafood, mixed, and vegetarian!) which will be delivered to addresses only in L1 and L3 during the afternoon of Wednesday 25th March. All we need to do is heat it up. The cost is extremely reasonable – no more than a take-away meal from a supermarket.

Last orders by 2pm Wednesday and if there is a greater demand than supply you will be offered an alternative meal.

What is Zoom?

Zoom is a free video conferencing app, used by millions of people around the world. It works on any phone, tablet, or computer with a front-facing camera.

You can make your evening smoother by downloading the Zoom app in advance, via this link.

Then, at dinner time on Wednesday, you can use the same link to join our Zoom Room again, or you can open up the Zoom app on your device and enter the meeting ID: 608 926 5987.

Why are you doing this?

Liverpool’s retailers, and especially its cafés, restaurants, and bars, are facing an unprecedented challenge as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, residents all across the city centre face the prospect of becoming more and more isolated as this situation goes on.

We, at Engage, want to do our bit to help address both of these issues. Using our network of city centre and waterfront residents, and our contacts with local food providers, we want to help combat the social isolation that many of us are starting to feel. And if we can also share some really good food at the same time, then all the better!

If you have any suggestions for future restaurants, or ideas for how we can support you during this pandemic, please contact us at chair@engageliverpool.com.
