Liverpool John Moores University have revealed plans for the expansion of the Knowledge Quarter into the former Copperas Hill Royal Mail Office.
This £100m project is set to transform the derelict sorting office into a dynamic centre for LJMU and make a considerable impression upon that part of the city centre as well as bringing together the LJMU campus.
Work is expected to begin in 2016 and will start by removing the external cladding from the existing building to reveal the inner core which will remain as the structure for the new building. Architect drawings show a mostly glass frontage which will be used to highlight the internal structure of the building.
