City Quay has had to switch off fountains and put up warning notices around our lake now Calderstone’s Park has had to take serious action with their lake.

The shocking news was reported today in the Liverpool Echo and the reason given for the closure of the lake was an outbreak of the toxic blue-green algae – the same infection which is affecting the water-feature at City Quay. All fishing has been banned and dog owners are warned to keep their pets away from the water.

If you want to find out more about this toxic algae come to the Public Meeting on Monday 12th October at 7.00pm in Casemate No5 where experts from Atmos Consulting will tell us what is wrong with our lake and what we will have to do to improve it.
