Liverpool is generally regarded to be behind the curve when it comes to realising the importance and significance of food for the local economy as well as for a thriving cuisine culture and improved health outcomes.
However Independent Liverpool’s two magnificent founders David Williams and Oliver Press have delivered an awesome Food and Drink Festival showcasing and highlighting many of the local independent food and drink businesses that they have recruited to their organisation which has added to the pressure for change in the food culture of the city.
Taking place over a weekend in the Baltic Triangle of the city from 22nd-23rd August thousands of people came together to make this one of the most significant events in the Liverpool’s food calendar. Now we need to push for a regular high-end food market that celebrates the work of our independent and creative food sector. Well done David and Oliver! Thank you for your passion!
