The British Musical Experience, Britain’s only museum dedicated to popular music, is heading to Liverpool following a  5yr stint at the O2 Arena in London.

It will be making the Cunard Building ground floor its new permanent home and the city and Mayor are delighted. What better place than Liverpool to showcase the history of pop music in the UK.

Harvey Goldsmith, Chairman and trustee of the British Musical Experience, said: “The historic Cunard Building on the shores of the Mersey represents the perfect home. The transatlantic voyage and the back and forth shared between the UK and USA plays a significant role in the story the museum tells.

“Liverpool is the natural home for the BME and we hope to enrich the city’s current music heritage offering and further solidify the city as a worldwide music heritage destination.”
