Engage has partnered with Playful Anywhere in Leeds to bring you stage two of The Delightful City series. Following an extensive consultation process amongst their contacts Emma Bearman and Mike Chitty have asked three amazing people to be the speakers on the Leeds panel and also they have sourced a very experienced and accomplished Host.

ED CARLISLE:

Ed is the Host for The Delightful City Leeds on Saturday 27th June at 7.00pm and has lived in Leeds since 1998. He is involved in various local projects, including: Beeston Festival, the Holbeck viaduct scheme, community hiking and camping events, youth work, local green/growing projects, and South Leeds Life. He dabbles in local politics and was the Green Party candidate in Leeds Central at the last election, and co-runs Leeds-wide charity Together for Peace. He’s married with a young family.

ANJ HANDA:

Anj Handa is the Founder of Inspiring Women Changemakers, a global, inclusive movement of people who focus on fairness and safety for women. She’s a policy influencer, company advisor, speaker and coach with a passion for the outdoors – hiking, gardening, and wildlife delight her. And is Chair of the Board at Freedom Studios, Bradford.

ELIZABETH WRIGHT:

Elizabeth Wright is a speaker, writer, Disability activist, and consultant, who also happens to be a Paralympic Medalist. Elizabeth is the editor of Conscious Being, an online publication for disabled women, by disabled women. She is an Australian Paralympic swimmer now living in Leeds, who won one bronze at the 1996 Summer Paralympics and a bronze and silver at the 2000 Summer ParalympicsShe also has a Master of Philosophy in fine arts

JACK SIMPSON:

Jack Simpson works across a range of projects in music, culture & politics. Jack co-founded the culture site The State of The Arts, the recording studio / venue Eiger Studios & the arts venue Hyde Park Book Club. Jack is currently studying for a PhD at the University of Leeds politics department.
