This month we were honoured to be invited to speak about Engage Liverpool’s citizen organising work—especially in relation to tourism in the city—on the WE*GENERATE podcast, which is listened to by city marketing and tourism organisations across the world.

Listen for free here, or read the City Destination Alliance’s summary of the episode here.

The appearance builds on a thread that started with our 2021 Destination Liverpool seminar series on tourism in the City Region, continued with our series of “Day Tripper” conversations, and has continued ever since, with Engage-facilitated resident meetings, such as the one we held in 2023 before Eurovision visited the city.

In the episode, Engage Liverpool chair, Gerry Proctor, explains to community engagement expert Sarah Frosh of Group NAO, how Engage Liverpool’s interest in tourism came about, and how we’ve worked with stakeholders across the city to have an open discussion about how Liverpool does tourism going forward.

It’s a lovely 24 minute dip into years of work by Engage and our creative, curious, and generous residents. Grab a coffee and have a listen to WE*GENERATE Podcast #7 here.
