About Ropewalks

Described as the bohemian heart of Liverpool, Ropewalks is a neighbourhood bursting with life. Many of the large 19th Century warehouse buildings have been transformed into luxury apartments and also accommodate a wide range of arts, music and cultural organisations. The area was previously home to an important rope-making industry but now has embraced a significant portion of the city’s night time economy. Apartment developments rub shoulders with bars and night clubs, cafes and restaurants as well as some fantastic cultural offers like FACT and Urban Strawberry Lunch in St Luke’s the bombed-church. The neighbourhood is also a tourist destination evidenced by the number of hotels and serviced apartment developments.
